El consejero de Sanidad, Luis Truan, y la alcaldesa de Cabezón de la Sal, María Isabel Fernández, estudiaron el plan funcional del nuevo centro de salud, que se pretende construir en la villa de la sal, para atender a más de 14.000 personas de la comarca Saja-Cabuérniga.
Pese a que el Ayuntamiento cabezonense no dispone aún de los terrenos necesarios para su edifi cación, Truan aseguró que el centro se empezará a construir el próximo año. Las actuales dependencias sanitarias, construidas en el año 1986, son las más antiguas del Servicio Cántabro de Salud. Su emplazamiento, en el barrio Hermanos Maristas, viene generando problemas
vecinales, fundamentalmente, por el aparcamiento de los vehículos de los pacientes que acuden al centro.
Para facilitar el acceso de ambulancias, el Ayuntamiento llevó a cabo la permuta de un terreno, con el fin de ampliar el vial de entrada, pero, la obra se encuentra paralizada desde hace meses. El consejero de Sanidad explicó que el nuevo centro de salud permitirá mejorar la accesibilidad y mantendrá la actual prestación de los servicios de medicina familiar, pediatría, enfermería, matronas, fisioterapia, trabajadores sociales, odontología y urgencias
